Karrin I makes an investment into digital infrastructure company Conversant Pte Ltd
Singapore, 9th May 2022 – Karrin I, our flagship fund, has made an investment into Conversant Pte Ltd, a Singapore based Content Delivery Network (“CDN”) company with a significant presence across South East Asia. This digital infrastructure company provides B2B solutions to enable faster delivery of internet content (video, gaming, ecommerce) through a network of geographically distributed servers, resulting in an improved end user internet experience.
While the company has grown notably over the years, the industry is still in its early days as increasing internet users and high affordability of internet access (mobile broadband) are fueling demand for interactive digital media and on demand over-the-top (“OTT”) content in Asia. Given this backdrop, businesses will likely seek the services of CDN players to gain strategic and competitive advantage over their competition through lower latency for its consumers. Market research company Allied Market Research for one is bullish, forecasting the CDN market in APAC to grow at an 18.7% CAGR from 2020 to 2027 and reaching USD11.4bn in value by 2027, surpassing Europe as the second largest region by value.
Notwithstanding its notable position in the market, Conversant’s ability to grow its revenues across a set of reputable clients were ultimately the attraction of investing in the company.
